County Extension Directors
-
County Extension Directors (CEDs). After input and discussion, it was determined that it was not necessary or beneficial to change the title of this local leadership position. One educator in each county will serve as the CED. The duties will include supervision of county support staff, county program support staff (program assistant/program coordinator), fiscal management and day-to-day local interaction with key stakeholders including county commissioners. The EERA Leader will not maintain a local CED leadership position (p. 8 of 25).
Program Support
-
County and Community Presence (p. 2 of 25). The restructuring plan indicated that it is a baseline goal for counties to be able to support a program assistant or program coordinator to facilitate the day to day management of 4-H programs at the local level. This recommendation does not imply that other program assistant positions should be eliminated or will not continue to be supported and funded at the local level. Support of programming (especially the activities of the 4-H program) at the local level can be managed in a variety of ways – local funding, volunteer support, development of key leaders, and educator collaborations. The intent is to maximize the ability of every county program to continue to provide a diverse compliment of Extension programs.
